Mysuru: Affirming that the Indian Constitution would soon be regarded as the most efficient on the planet, prison professional Prof CKN Raja on Monday said, “The constitution of America is 350 years outdated, whilst that of France is 250 years outdated. The Indian Constitution is less than 70 years outdated, and there is no wish to fear about any discussion about making changes to it.”

Raja, who delivered a distinct lecture as part of the Constitution Day celebrations organised at the Ambedkar Research and Extension Centre at the Manasagangothri campus of University of Mysore (UoM), stated that the constitution of all countries used to be sure to have its salient options, and flaws. “Similarly, in step with the age and the prevalent modes of pondering, changes will be made to the constitution. The discussions and complaints of the Drafting Committee have been complied and printed in three volumes, all of which are to be had at the UoM library. It took me 15 years to review them.”


Emphasising the desire for each Indian citizen to appreciate the Constitution, which he referred to as the epitome of regulation, Raja said he used to be 17 when it got here into power in the country. “I took an oath to show the Constitution to every household, and to uphold it, I travelled to Nanjangud, Dharwad and other portions of the state to deliver lectures at the Constitution,” he said.


HM Rajashekar, who occupies the N Rachaiah Chair at UoM spoke on ‘Role of citizens in coverage of the Constitution’. PUCL president Prof Panditaradhya and the Ambedkar Extension Centre coordinator S Narendra were present at the occasion.
