Old guard dominates FGI managing committee polls

Vadodara: The old guard ruled the Federation of Gujarat Industries (FGI) managing committee polls for which the counting took place on Saturday. The effects for all the 10 individuals of the managing committee have been announced on Saturday afternoon. The vote casting used to be carried out on December 27.

In the overall class of the managing committee, Enviro Infrastructure Co Ltd chairman Atul Patel, Transpex Silox Industry Pvt Ltd managing director (MD) Paresh Saraiya, Pioneer Elecmech Pvt Ptd govt director Nilesh Shukla, Kunkel Wagner (India) Pvt Ltd director Amit Goradia, Gautam Infin Ltd managing director Bharat Shah and Sabari Chemicals Pvt Ltd MD Mohan Nair, have been elected.


Two girls candidates who have been a hit within the polls include director of Zydex Industries Ltd Pooja Ranka and joint MD of P-Met High-tech Company Pvt Ltd Hemal Mehta. Dot Graphics Pvt Ltd director Avant Amin and Baroda Polyform Pvt Ltd director Rustom Patel have been elected on the two seats for candidates under the age of 40 years.


In all, 19 candidates have been within the fray and the contest had emerged as the only between the old guard that integrated Patel and Goradia who are former FGI presidents. The other workforce used to be as soon as led by Amit Bhatnagar of Diamod Power Infrastructure, who's now in judicial custody in connection with a financial institution loan fraud and Amit Patel of Danke Industries.


Bhatnagar had to renounce from FGI after he used to be made an accused within the fraud case while Amit Patel had to installed his papers after his corporate approached the NCLT.
