Punjab: Hindu organisations slam Congress MLA over Hanuman Chalisa tweet

BATHINDA: Courting some other controversy by twisting the Hanuman Chalisa, Giddarbaha Congress MLA Amrinder Singh Raja Warring has found himself on the radar of Hindu organisations. The organisations have demanded motion in opposition to the MLA under fees of injuring non secular sentiments and have also sought an apology from him.

The district Muktsar Brahmin Sabha on Saturday called on Muktsar SSP and handed over a memorandum demanding to hotel a case in opposition to him. The other organisations have also given a decision for protest at Muktsar on Sunday in opposition to Raja Warring.

Concerned over Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath and plenty of other politicians elevating the issue of the caste of Lord Hanuman, some terming him dalit, Jaat and even Muslim, Raja Warring on December 24 had tweeted about variations of various leaders in shape of Hanuman Chalisa and rephrasing its traces. Many others had retweeted this tweet.

Brahim Sabha Muktsar district president Jiwan Sharma mentioned, "We have given memorandum to police to take action against the Congress MLA for hurting our religious sentiments and if police failed to take any action, we will hold protests against the MLA."

Muktsar SSP Manjit Singh Dhesi, when contacted mentioned, "The Brahmin Sabha has handed over memorandum for action against the MLA and police are looking into it."

MLA Raja Warring was not available for feedback.
