MUMBAI: Part of a hill close to upmarket Powai space of Mumbai has been grabbed by means of a builder for a residential project, a Right to Information (RTI) activist claimed Thursday.
Police, however, mentioned there gave the impression to be no substance in the complaint as the builder had important permissions.
"The hillock on Title Survey Number 101, survey no 38 (part) was found to be being demolished with earthmovers. So I have lodged a complaint with Powai police station Wednesday," mentioned activist Ravindra Tiwari.
"I have grown up seeing these hillocks. But now it seems they are being erased to create more land for development," he mentioned.
The activist also mentioned that he had written to the state environment ministry to look into the matter and inquire in regards to the permissions given to the builder to hold out construction paintings on those hillocks which had green cover.
