VARANASI: The priest, Vishwambhar Nath Mishra, of Sankat Mochan temple in Varanasi received a letter on Monday night by way of publish threatening to explode the temple. The subject was straight away reported to the Lanka police and the letter was handed over to them. Following the risk, police swung into motion and launched a large checking power at temple premises, ghats, places of public collecting and other delicate sites in the town in view of Babri Masjid demolition anniversary on Thursday.
“In the letter, the senders presented themselves as contributors of the crowd of a few Shahabuddin, and claimed to have performed blasts up to now,” Mishra stated, including they also claimed that the crowd owned subtle guns like AK-47 rifles.
“The letter was written in crude Hindi and signed through two individuals. It seems to be a mischief through some anti-social elements to disturb town’s peace, however we cannot take it calmly ,” Mishra informed TOI.
