Rajkot: Three girls had been arrested for allegedly blackmailing a trader in Race Course locality of Rajkot on Wednesday.
The accused had been recognized as Charmy Dodia (21) and her mom Krishna (45), each residents of Khodiar Society on the 150-feet Ring Road and their aide Puja Bhatti (22), a resident of Mavaiya village of Gondal taluka in Rajkot district.
According to police, each Bhatti and Charmy used to focus on wealthy other people coming to the Race Course. They would trap sufferers, click on their objectionable photographs and then blackmail them.
This time, they focused Hansraj Patel, a trader and ex-sarpanch of Jadia village of Rajkot taluka, who lives in Kalash Apartment on Morbi Road. While Bhatti lured Patel right into a relationship along with her, Charmy clicked their photographs of intimate moments in Patel's automobile. Then Charmy, her mom Krishna and Bhatti began blackmailing Patel, threatening to defame him with photographs.
“The accused took Rs 50,000 from Patel in installments and then demanded Rs 1 lakh from him. It was once then that Patel decided to method police. We nabbed the accused from their apartments,” stated D Ok Khambla, sub-inspector of Pradyuman Nagar police station.
