Clinics, hospitals shut for attack on paediatrician

HYDERABAD: The medical fraternity in the town condemned the assault on Dr Michael Aranha and, as a mark of protest, all paediatric clinics and departments (in major hospitals) remained close on Monday. The 24-hour-long ‘bandh’, medical doctors stated, used to be to highlight the spurt in attacks on medical doctors and demand government take measures to stop them. Doctors felt an increase in ‘hooliganism’ used to be an indication of failing legislation and order.
