VILLUPURAM/CHENNAI: Casting doubts in regards to the remedy extended to late leader minister and AIADMK common secretary J Jayalalithaa and her “mysterious” dying at a non-public medical institution in Chennai, legislation minister C Ve Shanmugam on Monday demanded that a special investigation committee be set up to habits a detailed probe into her dying.



Speaking to reporters in Villupuram, Shanmugam said the panel should document a case of suspicious dying and direct police to take into custody all other people responsible for failing to extend proper remedy to her at the medical institution.

Hours after Shanmugam’s outburst, DMK president M K Stalin said CBI must probe the instances surrounding Jayalalithaa’s dying, since the state’s legislation minister himself had raised a doubt. Stalin said the result of Justice Arumughaswamy fee of inquiry would not be of much use.
