Cops book 4 revenue officials for corruption

JIND: Police booked four individuals, including tehsildar, kanungo, patwari and a numberdar from Julana the town on corruption charges in Jind district on Saturday. The accused have been known as Shiv Kumar Saini, a tehsildar, Anup Singh, kanungo, Kuldeep Singh, a patwari and Inder Singh, a numberdar. They are all deputed in Julana the town of the district.


In a criticism lodged with the Jind deputy commissioner, Virender Singh, a farmer, alleged a scam in distribution of compensation to farmers in 2017. According to him, when farmers sought compensation after heavy rain destroyed kharif crop within the house, the accused requested for cash. He mentioned farmers who didn't pay up didn't receive compensation whilst those whose vegetation were not destroyed did. He also mentioned he lodged a criticism with the Jind deputy commissioner. It was marked it to the SDM after which marked to the Julana tehsildar, who was already concerned within the scam.


SSP Ashvin Shainvi mentioned a case has been registered against the accused at the criticism of Virender Singh, a farmer from Karela village of Julana the town in district Jind. He mentioned further investigation is on.


Police sources mentioned after preliminary investigations, the CM flying squad and CID discovered them at fault.
