COIMBATORE: A newly-wed 19-year-old woman dedicated suicide at her place of dwelling at Muthalipalayam in Tirupur on Friday over a circle of relatives dispute.
Police identified the deceased as Surya, of Chettipalayam in Tirupur. “She worked in a garment unit at Muthalipalayam, where she fell in love with Naveenkumar, 26. After seeing each different for 4 months, they determined to tie the knot. However, the couple’s parents adverse it. Despite this, they were given married at a temple in Chengapalli on December 5,” a police officer stated.
After the marriage, they approached the Nallur police searching for protection. Police subsequently referred to as the couple’s parents and held a chat. Later, the couple moved to a rental house at Muthalipalayam, the officer stated.
“However, it seems the couple had a struggle and Surya was in depression. On Friday, family members found her placing at their house,” the officer stated.
When alerted, the Tirupur rural police reached the spot and despatched the body to the Tirupur government health center for postmortem. Police have recovered a suicide notice from the house.
