Guard fires off gun accidentally, booked

RAJKOT: A safety guard at an ATM centre near Lal Bungalow locality in Jamnagar by chance fired off his double barrel gun, shattering off the glass of the ATM kiosk on Wednesday morning.

Police mentioned Mubaraqahmed Malek had come to the kiosk to load cash with a cash van.


“When he was status inside the kiosk he had by chance pulled the gun’s trigger. We have booked Malek for negligence and under Section 27 of the Arms Act, coping with endangering the lives of others,” mentioned V S Lamba, sub-inspector of Jamnagar B-Division police station.


Jatin Patel, inspector of Jamnagar special operation group, mentioned, “Malek, who lives in Patel Colony in Jamnagar, originally hails from Rajauri in Jammu & Kashmir. We are probing whether his gun’s license is acceptable only to J&Okay or different states as neatly. It is also being investigated whether the license is a replica one.”


Malek was booked on the grievance of Jaideep Shilu, who is the coordinator of the cash loading work.
