LUDHIANA: Cracking a whip on the defaulters, the officials of the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation disconnected 22 water provide and sewerage connections within the town.
Expressing anger over the motion, the residents argued with the officials and pleaded to not snap their connections.
Some of the defaulters agreed to make bills while some sought a few days' time to transparent the dues. However, the civic officials claimed that they will continue their force towards the defaulters.
Rajinder Singh, the superintending engineer of the operation and upkeep cell said that the civic frame resorted to chop connection now because people were not coming forward to transparent dues on their very own.
