Now, pay for PMC’s garbage collection per month

PATNA: Patnaites will have to pay a meagre amount from this month to avail the door-to-door rubbish collection carrier of the Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC).

“The per 30 days fee device will probably be effective from January 1 onwards and supervisors involved will handle a sign up whilst amassing money from each residential and industrial structures on the finish of each and every month,” PMC deputy commissioner Vishal Anand said on Saturday.

While particular person households will probably be charged Rs 30 per month, retail outlets and small eateries will pay Rs 100. Restaurants, guest properties, dharamshalas, hostels, industrial workplaces, govt workplaces, banks and educational institutes will probably be charged Rs 500. Medical institutions, clinics, dispensaries and laboratories will have to pay Rs 250 whereas hospitals with 50 beds will probably be charged Rs 1,500. A two-month loose door-to-door rubbish collection carrier was once launched by chief minister Nitish Kumar on October 2 last year. The PMC, in its empowered standing committee assembly on December eight decided to price money for the carrier from January onwards.


All in combination 350 auto tippers, 10 sweeping machines, 100 massive and 106 small dustbins are used to hold out door-to-door rubbish collection work.


Earlier, the rubbish collection scheme was once launched by the then city development and housing department minister Maheshwar Hazari and previous Patna mayor Afzal Imam in April, 2017. The PMC had outsourced the work to 2 non-public businesses and charged Rs 60 per month from each household, double of what's being charged now.
