Odisha clears investment proposals worth Rs 1177 crore

BHUBANESWAR: The state level single window clearance authority (SLSWCA) led by leader secretary A P Padhi on Friday cleared investment proposals price Rs 1177 crore, which can create employment alternatives for 6031 folks.

The authorized initiatives had been from various sectors together with sanitary ware, meals processing, hospitality, electronics manufacturing, IT services and products and chemicals, said an legit supply.

The authorized initiatives include Hindustan Sanitaryware Industries Limited’s proposal to set up a tumbler container manufacturing unit at Cuttack by investing Rs 350 crore. It will generate 1200 employments.

The SLSWCA also gave its nod to Odisha-based Om Oil and Flour Mills Ltd (makers of RUCHI brand of spices) for a unit to supply spices, pasta, noodles, fruit-based beverages at Ramdaspur, Cuttack. It will invest Rs 100 crore and have interaction 1560 folks.

Omjay EV Limited’s proposal to set up an electrical automobile manufacturing unit at Jajpur price Rs 52.41 crore was also authorized. It will manufacture e-rickshaws and e-scooters. This will create job alternatives for 122 folks.

The leader secretary-led panel also cleared Hindalco’s proposal to ascertain a coal gasification unit in its current plant at Hirakud in Sambalpur with an investment of Rs 60 crore. This will create 20 further employment alternatives.


In a boost to tourism sector in the state, the Mayfair Group’s plan for a golf lodge at Satapada in Puri also got green sign. The crew will investment Rs 125 crore and create 550 further employments. It may even supply high-end lodging amenities for tourists.


In the IT sector, two proposals had been cleared. These include a Rs 75-crore mobile handset and accessories corporate by Jaipur-based StarGSM Upakaran Peripherals and a device unit by Hyderabad-based C-TEL by investing Rs 65 crore. Both the initiatives would come up on the Electronics Manufacturing Cluster at Infovalley close to the state capital and in combination generate 2030 employments.


The SLSWCA also gave its nod for the Rs 250 crore biomass ethanol plant at Bargarh by central PSU Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited. Employment doable of the undertaking is 200. It also cleared another proposal of HIL Limited, another central PSU for a Rs 100 crore agrochemicals manufacturing unit at Chatrapur in Ganjam. This will lead to creation of 350 employment alternatives.
