One killed in feud among sand mafia

Vadodara: Internal feud among sand mafias in Chhota Udepur ended in the homicide of some of the miners overdue on Tuesday night.
An argument over deciding the world for mining in the Orsang River close to Kanaas village between the accused Guman Rathwa and the sufferer Raising Rathwa resulted in a firing and Raising’s death.

Residents of Khadakwada and Kanaas villages had accrued on the riverbed to decide over the bounds for citizens of both villages. At the end of debate it used to be determined that the limits will probably be determined after proper measurement of the world. However, Guman’s brothers mentioned that the river comes under their house so they'll behavior mining task and not the villagers of Kanaas.

Late in the night, when Raising heard noise of sand excavating system, he and some different villagers went against the riverbed. Raising and Guman had arguments as he had began mining task even as the villagers had determined to begin mining task most effective after measuring the world. After a heated altercation, Guman took out his father’s licensed gun and bumped off Raising.


When Raising’s brother Zabir reached there on hearing the gunshot, he were given into a scuffle with the accused in which both had been injured. Meanwhile, a villager called an ambulance to rush Raising to clinic, but the doctor in the ambulance declared him useless.


Zabir later registered a case of homicide, felony intimidation and violation of Arms Act at Rangpur police station against Guman and his father Richhadiya Rathwa. Police mentioned that they had officially arrested Guman, but since he used to be injured, he is present process remedy in clinic.


Police assets mentioned that none of the sand miners in the two villages are leaseholders. Over a number of years villagers had been excavating sand illegally on a small scale.
