Vadodara: Internal feud among sand mafias in Chhota Udepur ended in the homicide of some of the miners overdue on Tuesday night.
An argument over deciding the world for mining in the Orsang River close to Kanaas village between the accused Guman Rathwa and the sufferer Raising Rathwa resulted in a firing and Raising’s death.
Residents of Khadakwada and Kanaas villages had accrued on the riverbed to decide over the bounds for citizens of both villages. Zabir later registered a case of homicide, felony intimidation and violation of Arms Act at Rangpur police station against Guman and his father Richhadiya Rathwa. Police mentioned that they had officially arrested Guman, but since he used to be injured, he is present process remedy in clinic.
Police assets mentioned that none of the sand miners in the two villages are leaseholders. Over a number of years villagers had been excavating sand illegally on a small scale.
