Performance of states in education to be graded: Prakash Javadekar

NEW DELHI: Union human resource and construction minister Prakash Javadekar informed that states will henceforth be graded at the basis of their training performance, largely in keeping with 70 parameters.

After a National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) government meeting, Javadekar said on Saturday — "State performance grading will be done on 70 parameters that will improve the quality and will give clarity on where exactly the state stands."

The meeting used to be attended by training ministers of Assam, Gujarat, Delhi, and a few council individuals.

Furthermore, Javadekar stressed at the significance of rationalising the curriculum.


“Curriculum rationalisation must be done for holistic learning and for that curriculum overload shall be decreased by some proportion this 12 months, and a few extra in the subsequent, by 2021 we will be able to have decreased the curriculum by 50 per cent,” he said.


He also informed that extra NCERT books shall be published this 12 months.


“Two crore books have been published two years in the past, closing 12 months six crore books have been published and this 12 months we intention to provide eight crore or extra books,” he added.


On Friday, Javadekar had said that innovation in instructing used to be crucial, including that best lecturers of this country have the capability to change India's training scenario.
