Despite the Supreme Court's verdict on September 28 final yr, allowing girls in the 10-50 age crew, no children or younger girls in the 'barred' crew had been ready to offer prayers on the shrine following frenzied protests by means of devotees and right-wing outfits.

The two girls, known as Kanakadurga (42) and Bindu (42), wearing the traditional black dress, with their heads coated, climbed the hill shrine at three.38 am Wednesday.

The girls trekked to the hill a day after the state-sponsored 620-km-long human wall of ladies used to be formed Tuesday from Kasargode in the northern a part of the state until the southernmost district of Thiruvananthapuram.
