AHMEDABAD: Police sub-inspector Devendrasingh Satyendrasingh Rathod, 35, on Monday dedicated suicide via taking pictures himself with a licensed revolver belonging to his brother-in-law. Police sources said that they've found two suicide notes from his bag lying beside his bed. Rathod was once a gold medallist at the Karai Police Training Academy.
In some of the notes, Rathod, the son of a retired class I officer of the felony division, has said that he was once subjected to psychological torture via deputy superintendent of police (DSP) N P Patel of the Karai academy. Police officials said Rathod has written that it is his ultimate want that Patel be pushed aside from service and be jailed for existence after an inquiry. Rathod — a 2016-17 batch PSI looking ahead to posting — was once on leave,” said a police source. “He has written that he has a three-year-old daughter, but after dealing with torture from Patel, he stopped enthusiastic about her long run.”
The inspector of the Sola police station, D L Gadhvi, said that a case of unintended dying has been registered in response to the complaint of Rathod’s brother, Hemendrasingh. However, Gadhvi was once tight-lipped in regards to the contents of the suicide notes. According to police sources, Rathod had long gone to Karai in the morning and had returned at midday. “He then had lunch together with his circle of relatives together with his spouse Dimple, who is an IT engineer, and their daughter, Pal,” the source said. “He later went to the first flooring. Soon, the circle of relatives heard a noisy bang and found Rathod lying in a pool of blood. He had shot himself in the chin.”
Had bought sweets for daughter
Rathod had returned from the Karai academy on Monday morning. In the afternoon, after having lunch together with his circle of relatives, he had asked his daughter, Pal, if she sought after sweets. He took her to a close-by shop where he bought her some chocolates. Then he went to his room and dedicated suicide.
Controversy over go out wound
Rathod had shot himself in the chin. While police sources said there was once no go out wound, some police officials said there's indeed an go out wound and that they're tracing the bullet fired from the approved revolver.
DSP to be quizzed after probe
