PATNA: At least two persons, including a 14-year-old minor, were thrashed to loss of life at Maghra village under Deep Nagar police station area in Nalanda district in retaliation after an RJD leader’s bullet-ridden body was discovered within the village on Wednesday morning.
Police mentioned the duo killed by thrashing, was suspected to be concerned within the RJD leader’s killing.
Nalanda SP Sudhir Kumar Podika told TOI over the phone "the deceased RJD leader was identified as Indal Paswan (40) who had gone to attend a ritual in the village after of a relative’s death on Tuesday night."
“Paswan was returning on a motorbike when he was shot lifeless by unidentified criminals. The body was spotted on Wednesday morning by villagers after which police gained information at about 7am,” the SP mentioned.
He mentioned that relations and supporters of Paswan later attacked some persons within the village suspected to be fascinated by killing.
“The irate villagers thrashed Ranjan Yadav (14) and one Santu Malakaar (40) with bricks and sticks ensuing the loss of life of the minor on the spot. Santu, after preliminary remedy on the district sadar medical institution was rushed to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) where he succumbed to grievous injuries,” he mentioned.
Podika, who had also rushed to the spot after the incident, mentioned that the situation was under keep an eye on and police team of workers were deployed on the village to handle law and order.
He mentioned that the RJD leader had one bullet damage mark in chest and no empty cartridge was recovered from the spot by police.
Deep Nagar police station SHO Dharmendra Kumar mentioned that the RJD leader had a development material shop within the village and he had a heated argument with nephew Gopal Paswan (22) on Tuesday night time.
“Gopal had no longer paid money to the slain leader after buying some development fabrics from his shop for which he was pressuring his nephew. Family participants of the leader had alleged that Gopal in connivance with Ranjan and Santu had killed Paswan,” he mentioned, including that police were but to receive a written grievance in connection with the leader’s homicide.
