Nagpur: After protecting dean of Government Ayurveda College (GAC) right here, Dr Ganesh Mukkamwar, beneath suspension for eleven months, the state government has reinstated him after he won the case towards the state in the Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court. He resumed his responsibility from January 3 and now has just 9 months to retire.
Dr Mukkamwar was suspended for alleged antigovernment actions and admitting a scholar on the remaining day of admissions in 2017 on a seat which was to be differently filled from Central government quota. “As consistent with admission regulations, if no candidate is available in the Central quota on remaining date any state candidate available as consistent with the merit list can also be admitted. I did exactly that and didn’t destroy any regulations,” he told TOI.
He was requested to cancel the admission of the woman scholar and on September 29, 2017, was charged with talking publicly towards the government. The lady was readmitted in July 2017 after she approached the courtroom. However, the government suspended Dr Mukkamwar on November 10, 2017. He then approached Maharashtra Administrative Tribunal (MAT), Nagpur, on November 15, 2017.
On March 21, 2018, MAT requested the government to behavior an inquiry within six months and put up a file. “However, no inquiry was conducted,” said Dr Mukkamwar who then approached the high courtroom in April 2018. The courtroom on October 19 remaining 12 months ordered the government to revoke his suspension as no inquiry was conducted.
The government then transferred him as dean of GAC, Osmanabad. However, GAC Osmanabad dean Prakash Khaparde approached MAT, Aurangabad, towards the order. The MAT then stayed government order transferring Dr Mukkamwar to Osmanabad. The state then issued order for reinstating Dr Mukkamwar as dean of GAC right here on January 2.
