Two carjackers nabbed after shootout in Gurugram

GURUGRAM: Two carjackers, who had snatched a Maruti Ciaz from Dwarka Expressway, have been arrested on Wednesday evening after brief chase and shootout at Farrukhnagar. Police have recovered two country-made pistols and snatched car from their possession.
The accused have been identified as Anujvir (23) from Rohtak and Hitesh (24) from Gadoli village in Gurgaon. One of the assailants had suffered injuries on his leg. He was rushed to civil health center by means of the police workforce. He is undergoing treatment at a private health center.

According to police, both the accused are serial offenders. Around six instances have been registered in opposition to them. The accused are related to Gadoli gang, police said.

Based on a tip-off that a brown Maruti Ciaz was snatched at gun level by means of two assailants in Sector 92 on Dwarka Expressway around four.30pm, police deployed teams to nab them.

The accused, who have been status on the expressway, intercepted the auto going against Sector 92 and compelled the driver to step out, held him hostage at gunpoint ahead of fleeing with the auto.

Soon after receiving the tips, a workforce of crime unit in Sector 10 led by means of inspector Deepak introduced a search for the accused. “We won the tips that accused had long past against Farrukhnagar. Acting on the data, the workforce headed against Farrukhnagar. They spotted the auto close to Basuda village,” said police spokesperson Subhash Boken.


Police workforce chased the auto. Fearing to be stuck, the accused left the car and ran against the mustard and wheat fields. When the police workforce adopted them, the accused opened hearth at the workforce. The police workforce also retaliated.


During the change of fire, a bullet hit Anujvir in his left leg. Within a minute, police controlled to overpower Hitesh also.


A case was registered at Farrukhnagar police station below sections 186 (obstructing public servant in discharge of public purposes), 332 (voluntarily causing harm to deter public servant from his accountability), 353 (whoever assaults or uses legal power to any person being a public servant in the execution of his accountability as such public servant), 307 (attempt to murder) of IPC and sections of Arms Act.
