Varanasi: Man held for fake currency circulation

LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (UPATS) arrested a person from Shivpur area of Varanasi with 400 fake counterfeit notes in denominations of Rs 2000.

The miscreant Naveen Kumar Yadav of Champaran used to be nabbed on a tip-off from near Central Jail area and used to be a part of community supplying fake notes to more than a few portions of India, said the officers.


IG (ATS) Asim Arun said that Yadav used to be used as a service to transfer fake notes from Malda in West Bengal and had to raise it to Pune in Maharashtra. “We have zeroed in on the particular person to whom the notes had been to be given,” he added. The quality of faux notes recovered from Yadav’s possession doesn’t seem to be of a very top quality and prima facie appears to be manufactured in West Bengal handiest. The use of the notes completed by means of the crowd is being probed.


Yadav additionally confessed that the fake notes had been in circulation in the native markets of Pune and he has got fake notes of Rs one lakh after exchanging Rs 42,000 authentic notes.
