UDAIPUR: A leopard died after a mob attacked and set it on fireplace on Saturday night in Kharbad near Rama village on Udaipur-Iswal Road on NH-76. The giant cat was once injured in a highway twist of fate and came about to go into the human settlement. It mauled an old man within the area which infuriated the villagers. The beast was once crushed severely with sticks first, later the mob poured kerosene at the helpless creature and set it on fireplace. By the time the forest division and police reached the spot, they found the ashes.

According to the forest officers, the leopard was once hit by means of some passing car on Friday night. The terrified creature hid in a single day at the back of a shed in probably the most farms in Kharbad village. In the morning when the farm proprietor Prem Singh (65) reached the shed, the beast attacked the old man. Hearing his shouts, villagers collected on the spot. The injured animal may just not run to save lots of his lifestyles and instead of informing the government, the mob cruelly beat the leopard with sticks and spears. They poured kerosene at the semi-conscious animal and set it on fireplace. The other people ran away earlier than the government arrived.
