CHANDIGARH: A girl from Kharar has been arrested, whilst her aide is at the run, for duping city-based jeweller of Rs 3.21 lakh.
The accused has been recognized as Jaspreet Kaur, who at the side of her aide Balbir Kaur purchased a number of gold anf silver adorns from the jeweller, but gave him a cheque that was dishonored by means of the bank.
When the complainant, Akhil Jain of Nikka Mal Babu Ram Jewellers in Sector 22, requested for the money, the Jaspreet threatened to implicate him in a false harassment instances claiming to have contacts in the police division and top hyperlinks with politicians in Punjab.
Jain said in his criticism that each the ladies had come neatly dressed and posed as the homeowners of Amar Cloth House. After buying the jeweller, the accused said that she didn’t have cash together with her and would pay the jeweller the next day to come. However, the manager refused.
Then, each the parties agreed on accompanying the girl to her space to get the money and the shop manager went alongside. On attaining her space in Kharar, the girl passed over a cheque to the manager and the latter returned to the shop.
However, when the cheque was deposited at the bank, it was dishonoured as the account didn’t have enough balance. The jeweller was cheated of Rs 3,21,000.
The complainant then requested the accused to pay them again, however the latter threatened him and the manager announcing that she has hyperlinks with gangsters and law enforcement officials at top posts in the city. She said she would file a case rape and molestation towards them in the event that they came soliciting for cash again. On this, the jeweller filed a criticism at the Sector 17 police station and arrested Jaspreet on Friday evening.
Balbir remains to be at the run and efforts are on to arrest her, law enforcement officials said.
