Surat: Fire officials sealed as many as 150 shops in a industrial complex and mall situated on Althan Canal street on Wednesday morning. Despite repeated notices, the shop homeowners and mall management had failed to install fire protection system there.
The shops in Magnus buying groceries complex that has a basement, ground and four flooring construction, had been sealed by way of the fireplace department on Wednesday.

Basant Parikh, chief fire officer of Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) stated, “We have been issuing notices to the shop homeowners, institutions and others industrial institutions since ultimate 4 months. However, there are some who didn't care, so we need to have sealed their shops.”

Fire officials stated that offices of GST department situated on third and fourth flooring of the complex, who had been additionally given notices for compliance with fire protection standards, were not sealed.
