Berhampur: BJP state general secretary Bhrugu Baxipatra on Saturday failed to show up for wondering at Chhatrapur police station in Ganjam district in connection with the 2016 murder of BJD formative years leader Laxmidutta Pradhan. Baxipatra cited sick well being to skip the semblance at the police station, two days after his party colleague and spokesperson Golak Mohapatra did the same.

“Baxipatra didn't come to face interrogation mentioning illness,” sub-divisional police officer (SDPO), Chhatrapur, Ramesh Chandra Sethi said. “We will serve fresh notice to both of them for interrogation,” he added. Sethi said wondering them is a part of the investigation process.
Reacting to the previous notice, Baxipatra had then said, “It seems the state govt is getting vindictive and using police to settle a political score with me.
