COIMBATORE: The Podanur police on Sunday arrested a minor boy, who stabbed a 20-year-old college pupil to demise the use of a broken beer bottle following a petty quarrel at Vittal Nagar.
The deceased was once known as Ok Vishnu of Vittal Nagar in Podanur. He was once a II-year BBA pupil in a non-public college, police assets said. “Vishnu and 4 buddies, including the minor, were eating liquor on an open floor at Vittal Nagar on Saturday evening. The boy had completed class X and was once working in a lathe workshop. Vishnu, who was once in an drunk condition, asked the boy to call him anna (elder brother). But the boy refused and called him his title. Feeling disrespected, Vishnu attacked the boy, who fell on the floor. The boy picked up a broken beer bottle and stabbed Vishnu within the throat,” a police officer said.
Seeing Vishnu suffering for life, his buddies, including the boy, rushed him to a non-public sanatorium at Sundarapuram and informed docs informed he had met with an accident. The docs checked Vishnu and informed the youths to take him to the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital (CMCH).
“The buddies took Vishnu, who was once bleeding profusely, to CMCH. But he died with out responding to remedy on Sunday morning. The docs informed the traffic investigation wing (TIW) of the city police, who reached the sanatorium and spotted the damage on the throat. The TIW police alerted Podanur (legislation&order) police inspector JK Gobi, who visited the sanatorium and held inquiry with the 4. The minor boy confessed to the crime,” the officer informed TOI.
Podanur police registered a case in opposition to the minor under Section 302 (homicide) of the Indian Penal Code and arrested him on Sunday night. He will probably be lodged within the juvenile house on Avinashi Road on Monday morning.
