Cash-for-job scam: Haryana to monitor investigation at ‘highest level’

CHANDIGARH: Responding to the observations made by the Punjab and Haryana high courtroom concerning the functionaries of Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) relating to their alleged function in cash-for-job scam, the Haryana govt has asserted that the investigation would now be “monitored on the highest degree”.

On January 23, the HC had noticed that “makes an attempt are being made to offer protection to some functionaries of HSSC in scam and why the matter should not be passed over to CBI”.

“The upper government have taken observe of commentary of this courtroom and make sure that the investigation will now be monitored on the highest ranges,” the Haryana govt submitted before the HC.

Hearing this, Justice Ajay Tewari has disposed of the matter in its orders released on Tuesday.

While hearing the matter on January 23, Justice Kuldip Singh of the HC had noticed that the Haryana Police appeared to have not performed the investigation in an unbiased approach and an strive used to be made to offer protection to some functionaries of HSSC. He had also noticed that the police had not long gone further into the matter to determine which of the functionaries of commission had been involved in the crime because the picks may just not be acquired with out the connivance of a few functionaries involved in the selection procedure.

The matter had reached the HC in the wake of a bail petition filed by Vijay Kumar, an accused from Jind district allegedly involved in the scam. Allegations in opposition to the petitioner had been that he used to contact the ones desirous of getting govt jobs via HSSC and acquire cash from them. The quantity used to be paid by him to co-accused Suresh Kumar, who used to further pay Dinesh. The latter claimed to have contacts with some people in HSSC. Though, the HC had granted him bail, but expressed displeasure over the investigation carried by the state police.
