BENGALURU: Brigade Road, Church Street and Commercial Street, three of the city's busiest shopping avenues, may well be pedestrian-only zones as leader minister HD Kumaraswamy has proposed in his budget.
While this move was welcomed warmly by way of citizens, investors on the streets have been lower than pleased as they consider it’ll adversely affect their trade. If the government take this move ahead, we’ll protest,” stated Mohammed Nazim of the 250-member Bangalore Commercial Association.
Both organisations point to the significant drop in footfall on Church Street post-renovation as soon as parking was banned.
