LUCKNOW: As many as 10 folks were arrested on Monday for committing a theft underneath an elaborate plan in the house of a retired IAS officer in Indiranagar final week.
On February 18, seven robbers had stormed the house of former chairperson of UP State Subordinate Services Commission retired IAS officer RK Yadav and held him and his daughter hostage at gunpoint. They had taken away cash and jewellery worth Rs 30 lakh. Their phones were switched off until Sunday when Mukesh called a washerman who lives near Yadav’s house to find out about police vigilance within the house.
“Mukesh was once arrested when we got his location thru mobile surveillance and afterward his knowledge, different contributors of the gangs were picked up,” he said.
Police recovered Rs 4.75 lakh which the group got from the sale of looted ornaments.
