Ranchi: At least six miscreants armed with pistols and sharp-edged guns broke into the home of a retired executive officer in Chutia space early on Saturday and looted money and valuables value Rs 10 lakh.
The incident came about in the home of a retired forest officer Deepak Ghosh when the family used to be asleep. Ghosh mentioned the robbers jumped over the boundary wall and entered the home after reducing open the grill of the kitchen window.
“We had been asleep when the robbers broke in. They stuffed our mouths with pieces of clothes and tied our fingers sooner than difficult money and valuables. They threatened to kill us if we didn't cooperate. They left with around Rs 2.80 lakh in money, jewellery value Rs 6 lakh and two laptops and two DSLR cameras,” Ghosh mentioned.
DSP (town) Pran Ranjan mentioned: “Police are carrying out investigations. We have lodged an FIR towards 4 unidentified other people with Chutia police station.”
