Vadodara: Serving as visitor colleges in universities will now grow to be a lucrative affair. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has recently written a missive to all the universities in the country whereby the charges of honorarium this is paid to visitor faculty has been enhanced.
The UGC in its missive has said that the fee in its 537th meeting that was once held in December 2018 had regarded as the issue of enhancement of the charges of honorarium of visitor faculty in universities and schools consequent upon the implementation of the suggestions of the 7th Pay Commission.
“The honorarium for visitor faculty be enhanced to Rs 1,500 in step with lecture subject to a maximum of Rs 50,000 per thirty days,” the missive states.
As in step with UGC pointers, visitor faculty must be appointed only against sanctioned posts. “However, for the universities the place the sanctioned posts are not ok as in step with the educating running load, the choice of visitor faculty to be appointed may also be as much as 20% over and above the sanctioned posts,” the tips state.
Also, the qualification for visitor faculty shall be the similar as those prescribed for the regular assistant professors of universities/ schools in UGC regulations.
The fee has also shared the tips for variety process for appointing visitor faculty which must be the similar as those of often appointed assistant professors.
“The composition of the selection committee must include of vice-chancellor or his nominee as chairperson, one expert of the involved subject nominated via VC, dean of involved faculty and head or chairperson of the department or the college,” the tips state.
