Haryana: Man gets 7-year jail for sexually assaulting minor girl

KURUKSHETRA: A court docket on Friday awarded seven-year jail term to a man for sexually assaulting a five-year-old lady inside a college in a village in Kurukshetra.


The the court docket of additional and sessions pass judgement on (ASJ) Lal Chand pronouced the verdict along with a effective of Rs 10,000 on Ramesh Kumar of Ladwa house under segment 10 (punishment for irritated sexual attack) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act. Deputy district legal professional (DDA) Gopal Kumar informed that on June 28, 2018, a case was filed in opposition to Ramesh under Section 8 (punishment for sexual attack) of the POCSO Act on the Kurukshetra women police station following a complaint from lady’s mom.


In her complaint, the lady's mom had alleged that accused, who works as a sweeper at Senior Secondary School in Ismailbad, sexually assaulted her throughout the school premises.


After receiving the complaint, the police took Ramesh into custody.
