Hyd not included in high-speed rail corridor list

HYDERABAD: TRS operating president KT Rama Rao on Monday expressed dismay over non-inclusion of Hyderabad in Centre’s proposal of developing 10 new high-speed rail corridors in numerous parts of the rustic. Voicing his sadness, KTR tweeted to Union railway minister, “Dear Piyush Goyal Ji, I'm really not utterly positive if the proposal of 10 new high velocity rail corridors is correctly reported. If it’s true, I'm utterly stumped with the common sense (lack thereof) in leaving out the fifth biggest Indian metro Hyderabad!! Request you to kindly explain.” The Union minister is but to answer KTR.

The Centre has planned 10 high-speed rail corridors in India, together with six routes from Delhi. The corridors include Delhi-Mumbai, Delhi-Kolkata, Delhi-Varanasi, Delhi-Bhopal, Delhi-Amritsar, Delhi-Ahmedabad, Nagpur-Mumbai, Patna-Kolkata, Chennai-Bengaluru and Chennai-Mysuru.


Karimnagar MP B Vinod Kumar advised IdealNews that that they had asked to expand a highspeed rail hall between Hyderabad-Amaravati by the use of Chennai. “This shall be within the hobby of other folks from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh,” Kumar mentioned. Telangana executive had also put forward a demand for making Secunderabad Railway Station as the purpose for working high-speed trains to five southern states for ‘Southern Splendour’ venture.

In the Parliament, TRS MPs had pointed out that at the start the Centre’s plan used to be to arrange the coach factory at Kazipet, but the venture didn't take off due to premature loss of life of former PM Indira Gandhi. Later, the coach factory used to be arrange in Punjab on account of Rajiv Gandhi-Longowal accord signed in 1985.
