JAMMU: The Indian Air Force (IAF) launched another special sortie on Sunday to airlift 186 other folks from Jammu to Srinagar, an legit mentioned.
Defence ministry spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Devender Anand mentioned right here on Sunday: "At four.15 p.m. lately, the IAF launched a unique sortie of C17 Globemaster to airlift 186 other folks, together with children and 170 students, from Jammu to Srinagar.
"These students had during the last two days been airlifted from Srinagar to Jammu for appearing in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)," he mentioned.
After appearing in the examination on February 10, the students were once more airlifted from Jammu to Srinagar, the defence ministry spokesman mentioned.
Terming it a 'memorable exam', the students mentioned they would never forget the efforts of the IAF.
They may seem in the examination only due to well timed and humanitarian help extended through the defense force.
Meanwhile, the Jammu-Srinagar nationwide freeway remained closed for the 5th consecutive day on Sunday after heavy snowstorm and rains lashed the area.
