Thiruvananthapuram: BJP state leadership – under power from RSS – named Mizoram governor and former state president of the birthday celebration Kummanam Rajasekharan as its most-preferred candidate from Thiruvananthapuram within the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
It is learnt that both state and central leadership of the RSS had communicated to the BJP leadership – in Kerala and the Centre – that Rajasekharan had vivid prospect if he was pitted towards Congress MP from Thiruvananthapuram Shashi Tharoor.
It was towards the desires of RSS state leadership that BJP had stripped Kummanam of his birthday celebration duties through appointing him as the governor of Mizoram. His political go out at the eve of Chengannur bypoll last year was an surprising move that shocked everyone, together with the ones in BJP.
Sources stated that BJP state leadership had submitted its record of fascinating applicants for each and every Parliamentary seat. While maximum applicants at the record will also be fielded from more than one seat, the name of Rajasekharan figured most effective in Thiruvananthapuram. The other acceptable replacements for the seat are actor Suresh Gopi and K Surendran. While Gopi could also be being thought to be for Attingal and Kollam seats, Surendran may well be fielded from Thrissur or Kozhikode.
Another surprise name at the record is Sasikumar Varma, a member of the erstwhile royal circle of relatives from Pandalam, for the Pathanamthitta seat. BJP state common secretary MT Ramesh could also be being thought to be for a similar seat.
BJP common secretary A N Radhakrishnan is another candidate the birthday celebration may box in Ernakulam or Thrissur. General secretary Sobha Surendran has been recommended for both Attingal and Palakkad seats. Former birthday celebration presidents in Kerala C K Padmanabhan and P K Krishnadas were recommended as applicants in Kozhikode and Kasaragod.
Ravisha Tantri – who contested in Kasaragod meeting seat – is being thought to be for Kasaragod Parliament seat. Palakkad birthday celebration president C Krishnakumar is being thought to be for the Palakkad seat.
There may be some change depending at the seat-sharing settlement with NDA partners and the observations through the birthday celebration’s central leadership. As of now, state president P S Sreedharan Pillai has not been incorporated within the record. But he may well be thought to be as a candidate in Pathanamthitta or Thiruvananthapuram later.
