Udhagamandalam: A decomposed carcass of a leopard was found in the Cherambadi range of forests in the Nilgiris on Thursday.
According to wooded area officials, the leopard would possibly have died a couple of days in the past. Forests watchers stumbled across the decomposed carcass after they had been patrolling in the Cherambadi wooded area range in Gudalur department of forests.
Manoharan, wooded area range officer, stated, “Preliminary postmortem file printed that the leopard was a male and around six years old.” According to the wooded area professional, there was no wound in the carcass, samples of which were accumulated and sent for lab test.
“Only when we get the forensic lab file we can verify the cause of the animal’s death,” the wooded area professional stated. tnn
