Man demands flat from wife, then tortures her

Two months after her wedding, this lady waited eagerly for Valentine’s Day items from her husband. But little did she realise that he had the same expectancies of her. And that is where things took a turn for the worse. He demanded a flat from the 25-year-old lady’s folks and when he did not get it, he and his folks tortured her for over a 12 months. The lady filed a complaint on January 25.

The victim, a resident of BTM 1st degree has filed a complaint with the Madiwala police in opposition to her husband, 26-year-old husband Ajay, an worker at a non-public firm and 4 others who are all staying at Mumbai.

The lady in her complaint has said that she got married to Ajay in December 2017 in Uttar Pradesh. During her keep at her husband’s area in Mumbai, her spouse's mother allegedly took all her gold embellishes and cash. Within a fortnight of her wedding, her husband is claimed to have brought her to her folks’ area in Bengaluru and demanded dowry.

“During the ultimate Valentine’s day, her husband is said to have burdened her to get him a dear present. He had demanded a flat from his in-laws. After taking her back to Mumbai, the girl claims that the harassment used to be insufferable.

She has additionally made allegations of bodily and psychological torture via her in-laws. She alleged that she used to be given capsules to forcibly terminate her pregnancy. And when she got pregnant again, her in-laws allegedly hit her within the stomach following which she evolved complications. Upon the physician’s advice, she needed to terminate her pregnancy again,” said an officer who is part of the investigation.

Things grew to become worse for her after she used to be thrown out of his area in the second week of December. She additionally instructed the police that her husband used to be blackmailing her, threatening to upload non-public pictures and videos on social networking sites. Unable to bear the harassment, she is said to have returned to her folks’ area in Bengaluru and filed a complaint.

“No arrests have been made yet. After the complaint used to be filed via the girl, notices have been despatched to her husband and others named within the complaint,” said the police officer.

When contacted, the victim refused to remark.

The Madiwala police has registered a case of assault with an intent to outrage her modesty (IPC 354), extortion (IPC 384), husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty (IPC 498A) and legal intimidation (IPC 506).
