PATIALA: Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari laid the basis stones for 2 road initiatives worth Rs 746 crore nowadays one every at Phagwara in Kapurthala district and Sri Anandpur Sahib in Roopnagar district of Punjab.

Laying the basis stone of upgradation of 67.64 km long Banga-Garhshankar-Sri Anandpur Sahib-Naina Devi road, Gadkari who is also minister for Shipping and Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, mentioned that the undertaking cost round Rs 581 crore below which 8.80km space of the undertaking falls in Himachal Pradesh.


He additionally laid the basis stone of construction of 2.555 km long elevated structure and vehicular underpass on NH-44 in Phagwara town at a price of Rs 165 crore.


Addressing a public assembly at Sri Anandpur Sahib, Gadkari mentioned that six-lane National Highway Delhi to Beas might be upgraded up to Sri Amritsar. He additionally confident the channelization of Swan River in the space and paid obeisance at Takhat Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Sri Anandpur Sahib. He mentioned that those initiatives will benefit the local populace by way of increased tourism, secure journey, diminished trip time, and enhanced economic task and employment.


He mentioned that the waters of Punjab's share of river waters that was once flowing to Pakistan can be stopped and the same can be given to farmers of Punjab.
