SURAT: Over 10,000 students of 20 schools and colleges in the town remembered Saint Valentine, the shopper saint of affection, on Thursday, the day dedicated to his memory, by taking a pledge to not marry without their folks’ consent. The oath taking rite was held on faculty and college grounds in the presence of contributors of Youth Nation and Haseyamev Jayete, local non-government organizations.
Around 700 students of Wadia Women’s College, 350 of Wadia College Vidya Mandir, 1,150 of Savani School, 450 of TMT faculty, 1,200 of Sanskar Bharti School, 550 of Sanskarkunj Gyanpith, 700 of Presidency School, 400 of Navchetan Vidyalaya, 750 of Swaminarayan Vidyalaya, 520 of Sungrace Vidyalaya, 450 of Sunrays Vidyalaya and 500 of Sunrise Vidyalaya had been amongst those that took part in the oath taking rite.
