‘Return our TN Project land back’

Varanasi: Several farmers of Bairwan village wrote letters with their blood hard Prime Minister Narendra Modi to verify their land is returned to them following failure in execution of Transport Nagar venture even after 20 years of acquisition of their land, on Sunday.

Gathered beneath the banner of UP Kisan Khet Mazdoor Congress at Bairwan village, the farmers wrote the letters addressed to the PM. They said that their land were received for a venture that could no longer materialize. As according to the land acquisition act their land will have to be returned to them in this kind of situation. They warned that during case of extend in pleasing their call for they might march to district headquarters for a decisive conflict. Earlier, on April 9, 2018 farmers suffering from land acquisition procedure for Transport Nagar venture via Varanasi Development Authority had staged a similar protest via submitting blood-written letters to the PMO in beef up of their call for. Following this protest, the VDA left this subject to the state govt for its final choice on the venture, said VDA vice president Rajesh Kumar citing, the decision of the federal government is still awaited.


According to the VDA information, the method for acquiring 86.219 hectares of land of 1,194 farmers of the 4 villages together with Bairwan, Kanna Dadi, Milichak and Mohansarai was once started in 2000 with the issuance of a notification via the land acquisition division.


After final notification in 2001, the possession of the received land was once given to the VDA on paper.
