WATCH: Australian pacer gives away 17 runs off one delivery in BBL

NEW DELHI: Australian pacer Riley Meredith was once in the limelight for all of the incorrect causes after he leaked 17 runs off just one ball in the ongoing Big Bash League match on Thursday. The abnormal incident happened when the 22-year-old, who plays for Hobart Hurricanes, produced a chain of unlawful deliveries in the match against Melbourne Renegades.

The mind-boggling series of events took place in the first over of the Renegades’ run chase. Meredith, who came in to open the assault for Hurricanes bowled 4 consecutive unlawful deliveries, that incorporated 3 no balls and a wide supply.




Bowling the fourth ball of the over, Meredith first overstepped, conceding an extra run along with a loose hit. The right-hand pacer, then bowled a wide down the leg facet that went past the keeper resulting in every other 5 additional runs. Meredith, then overstepped once more with Aaron Finch managing a boundary off the unlawful supply. The pacer then bowled the 3rd no-ball of the over with Finch once more amassing 4 runs. The 22-year-old in spite of everything controlled to bowl a prison supply, conceding one run off the bat of Finch, finishing the fourth ball giving for free 17 runs.


Meredith in the end ended first over by giving for free 23 runs.


Although Hurricanes controlled to win the match by 16 runs but the abnormal series of deliveries from Meredith stole the show.
