PUNE: The Hadapsar police on Monday arrested land dealer Rajendra More (40) for allegedly driving a 33-year-old dairy businessman to suicide.
The police mentioned Swapnil Sapkal hanged himself from a ceiling fan at his rented place of abode in Gondhalenagar, Hadapsar, on Sunday afternoon. The police added that in his suicide, Saplak had named More and two cops — an inspector and an assistant inspector — as the ones responsible for his death.

After concluding that the dispute was ‘civil’ in nature, the inquiry officer despatched a letter to Sapkal and advised him to move the civil court docket. After Sapkal’s death, his family demanded motion towards the cops for allegedly no longer undertaking a “proper inquiry” into his complaint.


“We confirmed them the inquiry papers and advised them to file a complaint towards More.
