Burla reports 29 jaundice cases

Sambalpur: As many as 29 showed instances of jaundice were reported from Burla triggerring worry amongst residents. The district management has initiated many steps to combat the disease.

Additional district medical officer (Public Health) Panchanan Nayak mentioned infected water is the reason behind the outbreak of jaundice in Burla. “We are sensitising people there. We are asking them to drink boiled water. The ASHA and anganwadi employees are visiting door to door and sensitising the folk on cleanliness,” he mentioned.


He mentioned jaundice instances were reported from many areas, including One-R Colony, Mahatabnagar, Attachakipara, Contractor Colony and a few different areas of Burla. “We have asked to public well being engineering organization (PHEO) to check the pipelines to trace the leakages and repair them urgently. We have additionally asked the PHEO to forestall piped water supply to the affected areas and supply them water thru tankers,” he added.


Commissioner of Sambalpur Municipal Corporation (SMC) Trilochan Majhi mentioned, “Sporadic instances of jaundice were reported from Burla.
