Trade, industry body seeks ban of livestock export

RAJKOT: In a shocking move Rajkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) a business body whose duty is to constitute the federal government to increase the business and export has represented commerce and Industry ministry to ban the export of live stock from the Indian port. The export from Kutch’s Tuna port the designated port to export farm animals is suspended since December closing year.


The union commerce and Industry minister Suresh Prabhu was in Rajkot on Tuesday and RCCI has represented him this issue become independent from all of the other problems. RCCI in it’s representation stated “Now it appears our farm animals exporters are past regulation of land, it’s prime time you want to take serious notice that such unruly export is danger against national safety and it’s also conniving Hawala and money laundering.”


RCCI requested the central executive to ban the export of farm animals from all of the ports “Considering the looming national safety risk” The business body also requested central executive to stop the export by way of issuing a notification. The business body also raised the question of role of veterinary doctors and customs and port authority and termed it ‘doubtful’. The letter stated that “The export of farm animals without any psychical well being certificates or fraudulent certificates will disrepute the national.” The RCCI made this representation after the request of Jiv Daya (animal welfare) activists.


However RCCI’s counterpart Gandhidham Chamber of Commerce and Industry which constitute the business and business body of Kutch from the place the farm animals was being export since closing four many years attempted to lend a hand farm animals exporters when after permission the export was not allowed before Bakri Eid closing year. Aashish Joshi secretory of Gandhidham Chamber of commerce and business stated “The farm animals exporters came to us before few months searching for our lend a hand and we prolonged all conceivable lend a hand as we do it for all of the exporters.


Kutch’s Tuna port was the designated port for the export of farm animals since more then four many years and goat and sheep from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh have been exported from this port handled by way of pandit deendayal port (Kandla port).
