Mangaluru: Campus ambassadors appointed via the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) committee of Dakshina Kannada have commenced activities to extend the poll proportion in the district.
The committee has appointed 80 campus ambassadors in 40 first grade schools of the district, who will paintings to extend the balloting proportion among young citizens. A coaching programme for campus ambassadors has already been held.
SVEEP committee chairman and Dakshina Kannada zilla panchayat CEO R Selvamani mentioned the ones scholars, who have been decided on as campus ambassadors, can be operating for one instructional 12 months. “Campus ambassadors have already commenced more than a few activities and they're going to proceed their awareness programmes even after the Lok Sabha election. This is in addition to electoral literacy clubs (ELC) set up in PU schools, first grade schools, scientific schools and polytechnics to extend the balloting proportion. While ELCs were opened in 118 first grade schools and 203 PU schools, 560 prime faculties even have such clubs in the district.
