Mangaluru: After several untoward incidents at Kudla’s watering holes, town police chief has asked the house owners to near them down on time, and cling to the principles and protection norms, or else face the song.

This diktat from the Mangaluru City police comes after revellers at these pubs had been observed indulging in unruly behaviour. Many lawsuits from the public stated that these pubs, positioned in middle of town, in addition to in residential areas, had been saved open beyond the permissible time, and also performed loud song. They said the automobiles utilized by visitors to these pubs caused a nuisance by way of honking loudly and because of drunken riding.


Several grievances regarding the town pubs had been aired right through the weekly phone-in programme. On Friday, a drunken brawl came about at a swanky pub situated in Balmatta, the place two groups had been concerned. The police had to interfere and keep an eye on the gang, which gathered outdoor on the highway. Taking this seriously, police have also asked pub house owners to compulsorily install CCTV cameras around and inside the premises.


Police, in a up to date meeting with pub house owners, have asked them to file the usage of medication at their premises, and provides importance to the security of women. “Anyone now not adhering to the principles shall be dealt with irons arms,” said Sandeep Patil, town police commissioner.


In order to check drunken riding, town police have procured 12 new breath analysers.
