Mysuru/Mandya: Hundreds of villagers and supporters of former Congress leader M H Ambareesh thronged the election rally at Malavalli the town on Wednesday to peer actor Abhishek Ambareesh campaign for his mom Sumalatha.
It was the first day of campaign via Abhishek for his mom. As Nikhil Kumaraswamy, who's contesting on JD(S) ticket, has also started his campaign from the constituency, a big crowd had gathered on the venue to peer the leaders.
At Hadley Circle within the the town, Abhishek, whilst addressing the crowd, said his mom had received tremendous beef up from the folks within the district. “People are asking us not to withdraw from the election but to combat with braveness. We will surely contest the election. I have started the campaign which is not new to me. I had previous campaigned with my father Ambareesh,” he said.
He also mentioned that his father Ambareesh had large fan following in Malavalli taluk. “My grandfather Hucchegowda is from Malavalli. Before taking any decision, we first speak about it with folks. I do not know politics, but I have entered politics and election campaign for my father Ambareesh and mom Sumalatha. Sandalwood actors can even come to campaign for my mom,” he said.
Sumalatha said persons are disgusted with caste and hate politics. “We are right here to do good politics for the advance and welfare of folks. Through hate politics we can succeed in anything. I'm receiving good response from folks within the constituency. Abhishek has started the campaign from these days. My husband Ambareesh had spent his early life in Malavalli. So folks of the region has nice love and appreciate for him,” she said, addressing her supporters.
She reiterated that she has no idea which birthday celebration is giving ticket to which candidate. “I have requested for ticket from Congress, but it is left to Congress prime command to take a choice. I have no idea about the leaders who are pressuring the birthday celebration prime command in favour of me. But I can announce my decision on March 18. The same day I can announce the Sandalwood actors who are coming for campaign,” she said.
Meanwhile, the conflict in social media is getting intense as JD(S) camp has formed a technical staff comprising birthday celebration loyalists to counter the offensive and derogatory postings against Nikhil.
Despite leader minister H D Kumaraswamy’s reaction that the customers of social media would no longer vote in polls, the JD(S) camp appears to be a worried lot that social media may change the ballot narrative. “We have never expected Nikhil’s candidature would create such large backlash in social media. There were causes to suspect such things would happen to us. Now, it is occurring and we are helpless in preventing the flood of postings which can be badly ruining our potentialities,” said a JD (S) leader.
Nikhil, who was in Maddur as part of his ballot campaign excursion, said birthday celebration employees are loyal soldiers to him and the birthday celebration formed a social media staff to counter the damaging propaganda aiming him.
