VIJAYAWADA: Migrant staff are playing a key position in election campaigns around the town. With the elections coming near rapid, the call for for migrant staff has increased as political parties throughout AP are offering as much as 1,500 in line with head for six hours marketing campaign.

Vijayawada is the major hub for migrant staff and round 15,000 migrant staff from Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Rayalaseema area live right here. Benz Circle, Satyanarayanapuram, Madhuranagar are primary hubs for migrant staff. Most of them had been mason staff and Hamali staff.


Major political parties are engaging in huge rallies and campaigns around the town and hiring migrant staff. "Political campaigns are helping us to make money. Politicians across the district are engaging us for their campaigns and providing free food and travel along with wage," said Kempu Anjiah a worker from Raajam.


"I migrated to Vijayawada a month ago from Markapuram of Prakasam district. One of my friends explained the high wages given to the workers who participate in campaigns. Three members of my family are participating in campaigns and we will go back to my home town to vote for my favourite contestant.," Gurram Venkata Prasad, a worker said.


Major political parties are engaging in huge rallies and hiring migrant staff. Most of those staff do not need votes in the town and say they are participating for the nice wages.
