CHANDIGARH: The District Consumer Disputes Redressel Forum directed Hotels.com and Hotel Country Inn And Suites By Radisson Bengaluru Hebbal, to pay Rs 7,500 to the complainant for failing to refund money paid via the complainant even after cancellation of booking at the same day. They were also directed to refund the cash paid of Rs 18,360.

Complainant Pradeep Jain, a resident of Sector 28A said in his criticism that on November 26, 2017 he booked 3 rooms for Rs 18,360 with Hotel Country Inn and Suites By Radisson in Bengaluru, Hebbal, for December 31, 2017 during the web site Hotels.com. However, at the same day, he telephonically cancelled the same as his brother-in-law had already booked exchange preparations for his keep for the same date.

It was once averred that the booking was once cancelled as consistent with the cancellation policy. However, in January 2018 when he checked his bank card statement, he was once astonished to peer that Rs 18,360 were debited via the resort as a result of the booking of 3 rooms. In its reply Hotels.com denied that the complainant had cancelled the booking. It was once pleaded that as he did not utilise the rooms on December 31, 2017 as consistent with the booking schedule and the resort charged him as ‘no show’. It was once further pleaded that they facilitated the complainant to e-book the rooms with the resort and it was once the resort that charged the complainant as ‘no show’ as he did not flip up and he was once no longer responsible for charging him as ‘no show’.


It was once further pleaded that on receipt of criticism, they internally checked with the resort and as a goodwill gesture, they organized to refund the quantity to the complainant and informed him vide email on April four, 2018 that resort was once in a position to refund the quantity. No one seemed on behalf of the resort.
